Markers Gonna Make...

Updated: Jan 25, 2022

As a creative I still have the need to make quilts of my own...but mostly I give them away!! I enjoy the process of making them and quilting them on my Longarm. This latest one was for my son and his fiancée. We were able to finally to go and see them a couple months back after everyone had been vaccinated. In that COVID time they got engaged and bought a house...so we had some celebrating to do!

Fabrics and a pattern were chosen! I had been hoarding this Stellar Fabric from Rashid Coleman for way to long!! I chose the navy blue Speckled for background fabric...and got started!!

This pattern from Cotton and Joy - Stellar Mosaic was a dream to make, it was easy to follow, and went together perfectly!! I just loved these sunny faces and and the deco art feel the fabric had.

There were a couple notions that came in very handy...one was this cutter you can place an old rotary blade in. It made short work of separating all the chain piecing you get to do. I love to chain piece...it makes me feel accomplished :) for some reason. Also a 6.5" inch square ruler comes in very handy!! I had picked Hammersmith Pantograph from Urban Elements, it has a great look and something for guys and girls!

TA-DA!! the finished quilt...it looked so awesome and Michael and Roxy both loved it. I cut my fabric out one evening, sewed this quilt top in one day, quilted it on my longarm the day before we left, and sewed the binding on during the 7 hour car ride...haha!

Until Next Time,

Michelle
